Elias Sasson is a board-certified pediatrician who founded West Park Pediatrics with Dr. Topilow in 1977. Since the age of 13, he knew he wanted to be a doctor and never thought about doing anything else. After graduating from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completing a residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Sasson moved to Monmouth County and opened West Park Pediatrics.

Ellen Setton is a board-certified pediatrician who has been with West Park Pediatrics since 1993. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biology from NYU, then got her MD from Downstate Medical School. She did her residency at NYU/ Bellevue, then stayed on doing outpatient clinic and resident supervision at Bellevue before going to a private practice in Brooklyn. She and her family then moved to NJ where she’s been at WPP ever since. She has a special interest in guiding new parents and helping with behavioral issues. She and her husband have 4 children and 8 grandchildren (including the triplets!). They keep her very busy when she’s not in the office along with reading, puzzles and gardening. She is also involved in a local school.

Dr. Rebekah Lipstein is a board-certified pediatrician, who joined West Park Pediatrics in 2010. She was born and raised just outside Philadelphia and moved to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins University for her undergraduate studies, majoring in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology. Dr. Lipstein then went to the University of Maryland School of Medicine to obtain her medical degree. She completed her residency training at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and after serving as Chief Resident at her program for an additional year, moved to New Jersey. Dr. Lipstein has a particular interest in food and nutrition, mental and behavioral health, and evidence-based complementary and integrative healthcare. She is currently living with her family in central New Jersey. Dr. Lipstein enjoys cooking and teaching her kids to cook, as well as reading and gardening. She is a Philly sports fan, and often wonders how she managed to raise a house full of Yankees fans.

Cindy has been certified as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner since 2002 after completing her Masters of Nursing at The University of Pennsylvania. She joined West Park Pediatrics as their first nurse practitioner in 2011. Prior to joining West Park, she worked for pediatric practices in Philadelphia and Trenton as well as school health clinics in NJ. She practiced full-time for West Park until 2016, at which time she switched to working as a school nurse to meet her family’s needs. She continues to work per diem at West Park on weekends. She has a special interest in providing education on health promotion and illness prevention. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets, hiking, paddleboarding, going to the movies, and listening to audiobooks.

Dr. Klara Galperina is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Galperina completed her undergraduate training with honors at Rutgers, The State University of NJ. She spent several years working in the pharmaceutical industry before attending medical school. Dr. Galperina received her Doctor of Osteopathy degree at NYCOM/NYIT and was elected to be a member of Psi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. She then completed her pediatric residency at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at RWJ Hospital in New Brunswick. Dr. Galperina worked as a pediatric hospitalist at JFK Medical Center for 4 years before joining Westpark Pediatrics Group in 2015. Since 2018, Dr. Galperina has also been working as a nursery hospitalist at Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. Galperina resides in Monmouth county with her husband and 3 kids. She enjoys spending her free time traveling, hiking and playing board games with her family. She is fluent in Russian.

Dr. Mary B. Lutz has been in practice at the Jersey Shore area since 1992 and is proud and humbled by the wonderful years she has been able to share with thousands of Monmouth/Ocean county families. She received her Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her general Pediatric Residency at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch NJ. Dr. Lutz loves being a part of the community in which she and her husband raised their son. On her days off, she loves being a mom, walking her golden doodle Fritz, spending time with family and friends, traveling and admittedly shopping!

Esther Rubinfeld is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who joined West Park Pediatrics in 2017. Her background includes experience working in the NICU and as a director of nursing at an FQHC. She currently lives in Ocean County with her husband and children.

Fruma Rubin is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who has been working in West Park Pediatrics since 2017. Before becoming an NP, Fruma was a pediatric nurse in the outpatient setting and in schools throughout New Jersey since 2009. Fruma received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Brookdale Community College. She then went on to receive her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Chamberlain University, and then finally a master’s of science in nursing from Monmouth University. Fruma is passionate about Maternal Child Health, providing care to children from the time they are born until they have grown into adults; as well as educating parents along the journey. She lives in Ocean County with her husband and children. When she is not at work, she enjoys cooking gourmet meals for her family, practicing yoga, spending time with family and friends, and traveling when she is able.

Sandra Birkenhauer has been a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner since 2014. She initially worked in finance after earning a business management degree from Bucknell University. After many years in the finance world she decided to switch careers and follow a passion she had since she was a child, medicine. She therefore went on to receive another bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s in nursing, both from Columbia University. She has a special interest in pediatric development and mental health. She currently lives at the Jersey Shore with her husband and two sons. Sandra enjoys traveling, reading and going on outdoor adventures with her sons and husband.

Cristina Cashin is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner who first joined West Park Pediatrics in 2018. She grew up in a small town in northern New Jersey and always knew she wanted to care for children. Even as a toddler, two-year-old Cristina was often treating her dolls for ear infections and making sure they were healthy. Growing up in a Cuban-American household, she is bilingual in English & Spanish and is enthusiastic about compassionate and comprehensive multicultural care. She double majored in Applied Kinesiology and Spanish at Rutgers University. She then went on to receive another bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s in nursing, both from Columbia University. She has a special interest in nutrition and newborn care. She currently lives in Monmouth County with her husband and daughter. Cristina enjoys running, cooking, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Ebere is a board-certified pediatrician who joined West Park Pediatrics in 2018. She had practiced for 5 years in Massachusetts then 5 years in New York prior to returning to her home state of New Jersey. She completed her undergraduate studies with a degree in biology from the University of Virginia then earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital/Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2008. Dr. Ebere enjoys taking care of children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. She cares for children of all backgrounds, from healthy to the medically complex. She lives in Middlesex County with her husband and 2 sons.

Dr. Dayan is a board-certified pediatrician who joined West Park Pediatrics in 2021. He received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC. He has special interests in newborn care, infant nutrition and the management of chronic illness. He currently lives in Monmouth County with his wife and two daughters.

Dr. Rebecca Woolweaver is a board-certified pediatrician who joined West Park Pediatrics in 2020. She is originally from Detroit, Michigan and earned her Bachelor's in Biomedical Physics with a minor in Chemistry from Wayne State University. She then earned her doctorate of medicine from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. Dr. Woolweaver moved to New Jersey where she completed her Pediatric Residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She has a special interest in developmental pediatrics and mental health care, with a true passion for preventative medicine and instilling excellent habits to cultivate continuous health. Outside of work, Dr. Woolweaver enjoys spending time at the beach, listening to music, rooting on the Detroit Red Wings, and spending time with her family.

Megan Edwards, born and raised in central Pennsylvania, is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner that believes in an individualized and holistic approach to care, using open communication to foster the well-being of patients and families. Megan completed her undergraduate degree at Villanova University, and then began her nursing career at Johns Hopkins in the pediatric emergency department. She then spent time working on the postpartum unit at UPenn while completing her master’s degree at Drexel University, providing physical and emotional support to new and growing families after birth. This is where she developed a special interest in the newborn period, as well as lactation assistance. Megan grew up spending her summers down the jersey shore with her family, and feels grateful to now call the shore home. She currently lives in Monmouth county where she enjoys reading, hiking, cheering on Philly sports, and spending time with friends and family
